Family-an a association of people who share common beliefs and activities; "the message was addressed not just to employees but to every member of the company family."  "The church welcomed new members into its fellowship." We are called into The Fellowship. "God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."(1 Corinthians 1:9 NIV)  Our Fellowship should include each other, as well as, our spiritual leaders and The Father God and His Son Jesus. "We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his  Son, Jesus Christ." (1 John 1:3 NIV) We should have a desire to willingly participate in His sufferings, dying to self, but also experiencing His power. "I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death."(Philippians 3:10 NIV) We should extend the right hand of Fellowship to others in the faith. "James, Cephas and John, those esteemed as pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised." (Galatians 2:9 NIV) It's important to give a portion of our offerings to our spiritual leaders. "You are to give the right thigh of your fellowship offerings to the priest as a contribution." (Leviticus 7:32 NIV) We are to be devoted to The Fellowship. "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." (Acts 2:42 NIV) We are to look out for one another in The Fellowship with these encouraging instructions. "Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus." (Philippians 2:1-5 NIV) We should experience Fellowship with one another when we come to worship. "with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers." (Psalm 55:14 NIV) We are to reach out to unbelievers, but we are to not to partake of the spirit of the things that they are practicing or that may not be pleasing to The Lord! It does not mean we are to not associate or have anything to do with them. We are to shun the evil practices, but not necessarily the person. Otherwise, how would we ever have an opportunity to reach them and how would they ever be able to see your greatest witness and testimony...your everyday life! "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 NIV) "If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth." (1 John 1:6 NIV) "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." (1 John 1:7 NIV) F-E-L-L-O-W-S-H-I-P  What does and should it involve? Let's see what The Word says! FREELY Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. (Matthew 10:8 NIV) ENTER Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. (Psalm 100:4 NIV) LOVING Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. (Hebrews 13:1 NIV) LASTING You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. (John 15:16 NIV) ONGOING/OPPORTUNITY Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:10 NIV) WALK And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. (2 John 1:6 NIV) SERVING Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, (Ephesians 6:7 NIV) Looking to serve or looking to be served. HELPING In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor. (Acts 9:36 NIV) INVITING For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, (Matthew 25:35 NIV) PLEASANT How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! (Psalm 133:1 NIV) This, is what is involved in living, serving, loving and enjoying sweet Fellowship! Blessings...
